Boston Stand Out for a Nuclear Free Future on Nagasaki Day, August 9
Join us on the 63th anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki, Japan, as we stand for a Nuclear Free Future. We will hold posters, distribute information and have petitions to have August 6 declared Nuclear Disarmament Day (an initiative of Burlington, Vt., WILPF).
With United for Peace and Justice (National) and other groups, WILPF's US Section Disarm! Dismantle the War Economy Issue Committee has designated August "Nuclear Free Future Month." We can carry our efforts throughout the month in a variety of ways -- letters to local papers, legislative advocacy for bills, participation in vigils, conversations with family, friends, neighbors, and more.
This election season is an important time to build awareness and pressure for Nuclear Disarmament -- and expose the wrong mindedness of Nuclear Power, in possessing 10,000 nukes and in our nuclear hypocrisy toward Iran.
There are also environmental and health reasons to join the abolition cause: for more detailed exposure, see the Rocky Mountain Times special report at http://www.rockymountainnews.com/special-reports/deadly-denial. thanks to Faithful Security for sharing this information.
