Weapons or Windmills? House Party for Mary Beth Sullivan

New Rochelle, NY
On the 63rd anniversary of the US bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan continue to destroy millions of lives, with no end in sight. Our leaders provide limitless funds for the "war on terror," while budgets for education, health care, housing, social services, maintaining our infrastructure and protecting our environment are mercilessly slashed.
Peace Action New York State, Campaign for Peace & Democracy, CODEPINK Women for Peace/NYC and Westchester, the Raging Grannies & Friends, the Humanist Movement, and All Souls Church’s Peace & Justice Task Force are proud to present Mary Beth Sullivan, who will engage audiences around New York City this year for the 63rd anniversary of the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Mary Beth Sullivan, Outreach Coordinator for the Global Network Against Weapons and Nuclear Power in Space, speaks passionately and practically about the need for anti-war, labor, social justice, religious and environmental groups to come together to challenge the militarism so ingrained in our society. The public is invited to a presentation by this knowledgeable former social worker, who will inspire and inform New Yorkers about what can be done to convert our permanent war economy into one that promotes peace and sustainability.
